My journey as a mom raising a child with autism has been one of love, learning, and growth. Twenty years ago, I didn’t fully understand autism or the challenges that lay ahead. But as Darius faced health struggles, I realized that a one-size-fits-all approach wouldn’t work. I leaned into a more nurturing, individualized path—one that not only addressed his challenges but also celebrated his unique gifts.
Through this journey, I founded Championing Autism to help other families do the same. I created a learning approach tailored to Darius' strengths, especially his love for music, and watched him flourish. That experience showed me that every child with autism has a gift—a talent, a strength, a spark—just waiting to be nurtured. As parents, we see the beauty in our children, even when the world doesn’t always understand. That’s why I created Championing Autism—to provide a space where their unique abilities can shine. Together, as families and a community, we can create opportunities that uplift and empower our children. With your love and support, we can help them thrive. 💙
